In this multigenre Project I will be explaining and showing examples of story telling in video games. Also I will be explaining some unknown facts and talk about how video games came to be part of the main stream. So please sit back and enjoy reading through the genres. To sum everything up I looking into what the first video games where. how they came to be and why they became so popular. I also created a birth certificate and award of achievement for the story of video games. I came up with a short story for them and created what I would think to be a time line for how a story progresses in games. I talked about some of the historical applications of video games and some myths around them like for example the myth "Video games make kids more violent." this is a myth because no studies have been done to prove it true but It could be speculated. Below this post I have added a introduction to give a bit of background understanding as to where video games started and what was the first game with a real story in it. So once again enjoy.
Dear Reader.
This is some background information about the story telling ability in video games. When Video Gaming first came out the game’s creators wrote little books to go with each one but they didn’t have real stories behind them, like “Pong” one of the first video games you could argue that it’s plot was to win but It didn’t tell a story. The first game to really tell a story would be Dragon's Lair where you played the role of a brave adventurer to save a princes from a dark castle. From the 1980s on video games evolved from just being "games" like baseball or poker to having solid plot lines and stores behind them to enhance the players experience through game play.
